Kids & Teens

The Kid's/Teen Collection site filters the overall digital collection to just show Children's and Young Adult content, which gets kids and teens to the titles they want faster!

You can get the latest issues of magazines & newspapers for free from the library's OverDrive website. Periodicals come in the NOOK periodicals format, which means that you'll need the free NOOK reading app or a supported NOOK device to read.

Library users with a valid library card from any one of Michigan's nearly 400 public libraries can print a pass, either from home or at the library, to one of the 70+ participating cultural institutions at the http://michiganactivitypass.info website. Some cultural partners offer complimentary or reduced price admissions; others, discounts in their gift shop or other exclusive offers for MAP pass holders only.  Each Michigan Activity Pass expires one week from the date it is printed.  A brochure with all the participants listed is available on the website.

(MeL is Michigan eLibrary which provides all Michigan residents with free on-demand access to online full-text articles, full-text books, digital images, and other valuable research information.)

 Subject Gateways found in the center of the MeL.org homepage Kids, Teens, Business, Jobs, Government, Health, Legal, and Books & Literacy which contain carefully selected websites and other tools specific to the named subject.  The Legal Gateway, for example, contains 13 classifications of topical information.  Looking for answers to Common Michigan Legal Questions or Finding Legal Assistance or Starting Legal Research?  Legal Gateway classifications list resources for finding these and more.  The next time you are looking for subject focused content, connect to the MeL Subject Gateways to begin your search.  Michigan residents or Michigan library access only may apply to some resources.
