Library users with a valid library card from any one of Michigan's nearly 400 public libraries can print a pass, either from home or at the library, to one of the 70+ participating cultural institutions at the http://michiganactivitypass.info website. Some cultural partners offer complimentary or reduced price admissions; others, discounts in their gift shop or other exclusive offers for MAP pass holders only.  Each Michigan Activity Pass expires one week from the date it is printed.

Workforce Skills

 (MeL is Michigan eLibrary provides all Michigan residents with free on-demand access to online full-text articles, full-text books, digital images, and other valuable research information.)

Not all returning students in the fall are kids and teens.  Many individuals want or need to improve and develop workforce skills to help them advance in their current job or find their next opportunity.  MeL has a specialized resource to help them along.   A product of LearningExpress Library, Workforce Skills for 21st Century Success  includes resources to improve workplace writing, communication and math skills; prepare for career entrance tests, licensing and certification exams in 17 career fields; utilize job search and resume tools; and  improve computer skills.  Workforce Skills for 21st Century Success is found in the alphabetic list of MeL Databases and MeL Jobs GatewayMichigan residents or Michigan library access only.

Kids & Teens

The Kid's/Teen Collection site filters the overall digital collection to just show Children's and Young Adult content, which gets kids and teens to the titles they want faster!


You can get the latest issues of magazines & newspapers for free from eMagazinesthe library's OverDrive website. Periodicals come in the NOOK periodicals format, which means that you'll need the free NOOK reading app or a supported NOOK device to read.

Receive SMS alerts on your mobile device to alert you to items that are due soon, items that are overdue or items that are on hold and ready for pickup.
