Message from the Director
Greetings from the Library!
Many exciting things have happened at the library over the past six months...
* CHILDREN: we have added a second early literacy computer station, a magnetic wall, new early literacy games, toys, activities, and many new books and DVDs.
* SCHOOL AGE: we have been working hard to update the collection: replacing many worn out classics and adding lots of hot new titles. We have also added a basket of fun activities and games that school age children may enjoy.
* TEENS: we have added comfortable new seating, great new books, and some fun games geared towards teens.
* ADULTS: we now have beautiful display shelving purchased by the Friends of the Library which showcases all the wonderful new bestsellers and other interesting titles that have been purchased. We have comfortable new reading chairs for you to use when you come in to read or use your laptop. Even our DVD area is brighter with new track lighting and lots of new popular and classic titles.
We have had some very successful programs over the past few months – Storytime with Miss Karen drew large crowds for the Paws with a Cause visit and the Fire Truck visit, Kids Connection afterschool and our Tween Programs with Deb have been growing in numbers. We invited everyone to a trip around the world as we hosted Sailing Faith author Gregg Granger, who gave a very interesting talk about his trip around the world with his family on a sailboat.
I encourage you to come see what’s happening at the library soon if you haven’t been in lately. Now is a great time to sign up for a library card if you don’t already have one, and take advantage of all the free books, movies, and computer access we have to offer. If you do already have a library card, we are having an Email Notification Blitz. You can sign up at the library for email notification for holds and overdues and you will receive $5 credit against fines and $1 credit to use for purchase of one of our used books.
